Job Summary:

The Data Specialist will be responsible for entering, maintaining, and organizing data as well as ensuring the accuracy of and supporting the company’s data analysis and reporting needs. This role includes working directly on project data integrity with project managers to ensure accurate project setup and change orders are entered correctly into system databases. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail oriented, and have strong technical skills combined with a solid understanding of data integrity and quality standards. This position reports to the director of finance and is hybrid, based on needs and project demands.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Collect, enter, clean, and organize data from various sources.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency through audits, validations, and routine monitoring and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with fellow members of the accounting team and other cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and support their data-related business needs.
  • Develop and implement data collection processes that optimize data efficiency and quality.
  • Use best practices to ensure efficient and accurate collection and integrity of data.
  • Manipulate and analyze data sets using Excel and other tools.
  • Design and generate reports to provide comprehensive story telling through data.
  • Use your expertise to provide insights based on data analysis.
  • Troubleshoot data-related issues and respond to data inquiries from stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • General knowledge of financial and/or cost accounting is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced Excel skills (sumifs, vlookups, and complex formulas).
  • Experience with business/ERP software preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization and to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to create and implement strategies for data use across the company.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, mathematics, accounting, or related field preferred.
Physical Requirements:

Applicants must be physically capable and possess the skills necessary to perform all aspects of the position requirements, with reasonable accommodation. This position is primarily office based, involves long periods of sitting and exposure to computer screens, and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Ability to lift 15 pounds.

ERO offers a very competitive compensation package that includes:

  • Hourly position with a pay range of $21.00 – $28.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
  • 10 hours/month paid vacation accrual (separate sick leave bank).
  • 11 paid holidays that include office closure between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
